Terms of Service

The short version: VIP Relay is a free tool that pings your lock screen when a creator goes live, via Apple/Google Wallet. It’s provided as-is — we can’t promise a webhook never fails or a push never lags, and we’re not liable if you miss a stream. Don’t use it for spam or abuse, or we’ll cut access. We’re an independent project, not affiliated with Apple, Google, Twitch, or YouTube.

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and VIP Relay (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using viprelay.com or any pass we generate, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

1. What VIP Relay is

VIP Relay is a free, non-commercial project operated by an individual (not a registered company). Fans add a wallet pass for a public Twitch or YouTube creator and get a notification when that creator goes live. Creators may claim their channel via read-only OAuth to control their pass and see who is waiting. There is no charge for any of this, and we may keep it free or change that in the future.

2. Not affiliated with the platforms

VIP Relay is an independent utility. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or partnered with Apple, Google, Twitch, or YouTube. “Apple Wallet”, “Google Wallet”, “Twitch”, “YouTube”, and related marks belong to their respective owners; we use them only to describe interoperability.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country, if higher) to use VIP Relay, consistent with the platforms’ own rules. By using it you confirm you meet this requirement.

4. Creator claims

If you claim a channel, you represent that you own or are authorized to manage it. We request read-only access solely to confirm which channels your account owns; go-live status itself is read from public data, not from your account. We never ask for write or broadcast-control permissions. Don’t claim a channel you don’t control.

You may claim and manage more than one channel under a single account, and connect more than one platform login (e.g. Twitch and YouTube) to it. You represent that you own or are authorized to manage each channel you add. We only ever link a channel or login you have just verified via OAuth, and we never merge separate accounts. You may unlink a channel or disconnect a platform from your dashboard at any time; disconnecting deletes that login’s stored access token.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

impersonate others or claim a channel you don’t own;
use the service to transmit or promote abusive, illegal, deceptive, or spam content;
abuse, overload, scrape, probe, or attempt to disrupt the service or its providers;
circumvent the per-creator notification limits or other safeguards.

We may, at our sole discretion and without notice, revoke access, block device tokens, remove a pass, or delete a creator’s pass class to stop abuse, spam, or misuse, or to protect the service, the platforms, or other users.

6. Free service, provided “as-is”

The service is provided free of charge and “as-is” and “as-available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). We do not warrant that notifications will be delivered, on time, only once, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Notifications depend on third parties (Twitch, YouTube, Apple, Google) outside our control.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VIP Relay and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from: a failed, delayed, missed, or duplicate notification; a platform webhook failing or being late; lost viewership, revenue, or opportunity; or your reliance on the service. Because the service is free, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for it — which is zero. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Your responsibility

You are responsible for how you use the service and for your own content and conduct. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VIP Relay and its operator from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

9. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, and we may change these Terms at any time, at our sole discretion. Material changes are reflected by the “Effective” date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You can stop using the service at any time by deleting your pass(es). We may suspend or terminate access at any time, including for breach of these Terms or to protect the service.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s country of residence, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections you are entitled to under the law of your own country of residence.
